HICARE electric arc flash suit
An arc flash is an explosion of heat and light when current jumps through the air between conductors. It can cause serious burns in a fraction of a second. An arc flash suit is made from inherently arc and flame resistant fabric that does not ignite or melt, and its cal rating (cal/cm²) tells you how much arc energy it is made to withstand. Your electrical risk assessment gives the incident energy at each panel; choose a suit rated at or above it.
Which rating?
8 cal and 12 cal: inherently flame resistant shirt-style jacket and trouser with zip under a flap, elasticated waist and Velcro cuffs. For LT panel work and lower energy tasks.
25 cal: multi-layer 500 GSM arc resistant fabric, jacket, trouser, gloves and a Class E helmet with 25 cal rated visor in the kit.
40 cal: multi-layer 500 GSM arc resistant fabric with bib overall, jacket, gloves and hood with 40 cal rated visor, for high energy HT switchgear.
FR thread is used throughout and FR reflective tape keeps the wearer visible. Kits can be ordered complete, or each part separately to replace a worn piece.

What is in the complete kit?
For 25 cal: jacket, trouser, gloves and hood with visor on a Class E helmet. For 40 cal: jacket, bib overall, gloves and hood with visor. The 8 and 12 cal kits are jacket and trouser. We confirm the kit with the quote.
Can I buy only the hood or gloves?
Yes. The 25 and 40 cal parts are available separately to replace a worn or damaged item.
