Newage short branch pipe 63 mm for a straight jet
The Newage short branch pipe 63 mm is the nozzle most people picture on a fire hose: a short tapered tube with a smooth-bore tip. It throws a solid, concentrated jet that reaches far, which is why fire brigades and building hose boxes have used it for decades. There are no moving parts to jam, so it is ready whenever the hose is charged.

Design
- 63 mm male instantaneous inlet, to lock into the female coupling of the hose.
- Male threaded outlet carrying the nozzle tip; a 20 mm bore is the common choice.
- Other tip sizes from 1/2 inch to 1 inch are made for different flow needs.
- Natural polish finish.
Gunmetal, stainless steel or aluminium?
- Gunmetal: heavy and tough, with the classic bronze look. Matches gunmetal landing valves and couplings.
- Stainless steel: bright finish that stays clean in damp basements and coastal towns.
- Aluminium: the lightest, easy to carry on vehicles and for staff who are not trained firefighters.
Short branch pipe or triple purpose?
The short branch pipe only gives a jet and cannot be shut at the nozzle; water is controlled at the valve. If you want a spray pattern and a shut-off in hand, choose the Newage triple purpose branch pipe. A similar short nozzle is also sold as the SafePro short branch pipe. Fit either to a 63 mm x 15 m Newage fire hose.
